Our modern clergy Men's/Unisex summer cassock is made of comfy and very soft, breathable bamboo for hot summer days when synthetic fabrics just don't cut it. Our sustainable bamboo jersey fabric is breathable and flexible, keeping you cool without restricting your natural movement. Please note we use stretch fabric for our cassocks to be worn over your normal clothing, the same as we use throughout our clergywear range. All come standard with long sleeves and a fully closed back. There's also an option for a hidden seam inner pocket. 

 

We want to get the length of the garment just right for you. Ideally, this means getting someone to assist you with measuring from the nape of your neck to where you would like the cassock to finish at the hem. Please leave your measurement (in inches) in the comments box at the checkout stage. A description of your height is accepted, but the length measured as stated above will be more accurate to your expectations.

Please contact us If you require the tonsure collar option or 1.2" high collar (the standard collar we do is a 1”).

 

All garments are sewn according to your selected measurements, for this reason, we do not accept returns unless we have made a mistake with your order. (Swatches of our fabric are available in our Clergywear range for you to get a feel for the fabric before you purchase)

Made from: Fabric - 95% Bamboo Viscose, 5% Elastane, Packaging - All Recycled Material

Being environmentally conscious we advise a cold wash 20-30c and hung to dry.

Interestingly for such a soft feeling fabric, when bamboo gets wet it
becomes very strong and stiff as it retains water unlike polyesters.
For this reason I hang my bamboo on the outside of my clothes rail or
the prime drying spot as it does take a little longer to dry.  

Bamboo fibre will fluff up and become softer over time making it even more comfortable to wear. 

Be careful not to wash items with metal objects thay might hook.

not what i thought

i am sorry but you should not be advertising this as a cassock as it is totally unsuitable to be worn as such in a church service.

Hi Alan,
I'm sorry you were not able to try on your tailor made bamboo cassock because it was too soft. This particular item was created through a customer request for a cassock so that's why we advertise it as a unisex cassock. Our items are alot less traditional and based around the comfort of the wearer, so that's why it's soft and stretchy and our product description states this.
We also have a fabric Swatch option, so you can buy a piece of bamboo to feel before you commit to a non-refundable tailor made item.
You can also book an appointment at our workshop for a fitting to try before you buy. We also attend college clergy fayres so items can be viewed and tried before buying.
